It tells the story of where you’ve lived, the sun you’ve felt, the air you breathe, the stress you’ve carried, the years you’ve earned, and the environment surrounding you every single day.
That idea is at the heart of SIOL Skincare.
I’m a Native American woman, an environmental scientist, a melanoma survivor, and someone who has loved skincare for years. When I created SIOL, I didn’t want to create another beauty company telling women that aging was something they needed to erase.
I wanted to create skincare that honors the skin we actually live in.
Korean Innovation Inspired Me
South Korea has helped transform the way the world thinks about skincare. Korean skincare culture emphasizes hydration, prevention, barrier health, innovative ingredients, and caring for the skin consistently rather than simply trying to cover problems after they appear.
I have tremendous respect for that philosophy.
SIOL is Korean-inspired, not Korean-made. I take inspiration from those innovations while developing my own formulas here in the United States, combining modern cosmetic science with carefully selected ingredients and my own Science + Nature philosophy.
For me, honoring another culture’s innovation means giving it credit—not pretending I invented it.
Your Environment Is Part of Your Skincare Routine
My environmental science education changed the way I look at skin.
We don’t live in a laboratory.
We live with sunlight, heat, changing humidity, dry air, pollution, particulate matter, stress and constantly changing environmental conditions.
Your skin is the boundary between your body and that environment.
That’s why I believe skincare needs to be about more than chasing wrinkles. Supporting a healthy skin barrier, maintaining hydration and protecting your skin from UV exposure are fundamental parts of caring for it.
And as our skin changes with age, paying attention to what it needs becomes even more important.
Aging Is Not Something I Want to Erase
I’m not interested in telling women they need to look 25 forever.
Our faces change because we lived.
We’ve laughed. We’ve cried. We’ve raised families, built careers, survived things, started over, spent days in the sunshine and stayed up far too late.
Those years belong to us.
Great skincare can help skin look hydrated, smooth, luminous and healthy. But SIOL isn’t about erasing your story.
It’s about taking care of the skin that carried you through it.
Why Should Great Skincare Be Unaffordable?
This is another part of SIOL that matters deeply to me.
Some extraordinary skincare ingredients exist today—but a beautiful package and a luxury name can push a product into a price range many women simply cannot afford.
I don’t believe effective skincare should belong only to people who can spend hundreds of dollars on a routine.
I want SIOL to remain accessible.
That means thoughtfully formulated products, modern ingredients, Korean-inspired innovation and beautiful skincare without turning affordability into an afterthought.
Science + Nature
Those two words appear underneath the SIOL name for a reason.
Science helps us understand the skin.
Nature reminds us where we came from and the environment we’re part of.
And my Native American heritage reminds me that what we create should involve respect—for people, for resources, for the land and for what comes after us.
SIOL sits where those ideas meet.
I’m still learning. I’m still formulating. I’m still improving. That’s part of science, too.
But the purpose behind SIOL will remain simple:
Real ingredients. Thoughtful formulas. Affordable skincare. Respect for innovation. Respect for our planet. And respect for you.
Because your skin doesn’t need to become somebody else’s skin.
Honor Your Skin. Your Skin Tells Your Story.
And I think that story deserves to be cared for.
