People often ask me what I eat to keep my skin healthy. The truth is, I’ve always believed that skincare starts long before you open a jar of moisturizer.
As the founder of SIOL Skincare, I spend a lot of time thinking about ingredients—not just in skincare, but in food too. I choose foods that are as close to nature as possible, and when I eat bread, it’s almost always traditional sourdough.
Why?
Traditional sourdough is made through a slow fermentation process using wild yeast and beneficial bacteria. This natural fermentation changes the bread in ways that many people find easier to digest than conventional bread. It may also lower the bread’s glycemic impact slightly compared with many commercially produced white breads, though it still contains carbohydrates and should be enjoyed in moderation.
For me, healthy skin isn’t about following fad diets. It’s about making thoughtful choices day after day.
My plate usually includes:
- Fresh fruits
- Colorful vegetables
- Wild-caught fish
- Nuts and seeds
- Olive oil
- Fermented foods when possible
- Traditional sourdough instead of highly processed breads
Skin Begins From Within
No single food creates perfect skin. Good skin comes from a combination of hydration, sleep, sun protection, nutrition, stress management, and a skincare routine that supports your skin barrier.
That’s the philosophy behind SIOL Skincare—and it’s the philosophy I try to live every day.
